Each year, defective wiring
or appliances cause over
12,500 fires, resulting in 25 deaths and over 590
injuries. There are also over 500 injuries and 5 deaths
caused by faulty electrical installations. Recent surveys
show that over 2 millions buildings in the UK need some
kind of electrical repair. Older units are especially
at risk.
There are also 2,000 injuries and 30 deaths from
electrocution.
Increasing legislation is being enforced to try and
prevent a number of accidents and deaths from faulty
installations and repairs. If you live in England or
Wales
especially, you are now required by law to use an
electrician competent to current standards, to carry
out
most electrical work. You are not only risking penalties,
but also your life..
Fixed wiring systems are
fast becoming an insurance obligation. This is purely
piece of mind for the insurance companies. Our
engineers can give you the piece of mind that your
wiring systems are safe. We always aim to please our
customers, that is why we will accommodate your
production needs and time scales therefore not
forcing unnecessary down time to conduct these
important tests. You shall be supplied with a full
report on your equipment or plant which includes a
visual inspection, details of all necessary test
results which are all measured with
properly calibrated instruments, any recommendations
and all the necessary documentation to give you piece
of mind.
Another
service we provide is P.A.T. testing (Portable Appliance Testing) which
takes all your portable and non-fixed appliances and consists
of putting them through a series of tests that determines
whether or not the equipment is safe to use, we shall of course supply you
with all the appropriate information and recommendations.
There will then be a test label placed on each item tested, as proof that
it is safe to use and give indication of when the next test
should be carried out.
